Welcome to IHAC

Welcome to IHAC, one the world's leading resources for halal information. Halal, when applied to food, is a dietary set of guidelines for Muslims living an Islamic lifestyle. Since 1992, IHAC is committed to helping halal consumers through research, education and advocacy. One of the services IHAC provides to halal consumers is third-party halal certification. Our certification symbol, the hexagon (represent the six continents on life ) helps halal consumers select goods, assuring them that what they buy is halal without a doubt.

OUR VISION AND MISSION

Assalamu alaikum
Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I have shared these ideas with all participants on IHAC event in last October 1992, but because of its importance, I would like to remind you some important points that I have experienced on working in Halal Food and Halal certification again. Please read carefully what I have compiled, and I hope you will benefit from my experiences on Halal and Halal certification.

1-“Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” (Az Zumar 9)
We always would have to keep in mind Quran’s comment. We must go on our way only with true knowledge.

2-So do not become weak, nor be sad, and you will be superior if you are indeed (true) believers. (A’li Imran 3:139)

3-All together by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves

4-O mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and wholesome in the earth (Bakara 2:168)
For this reason, we have to carry out our halal certification just like a prayer.

5-… and be grateful to Allâh, if it is Him you worship (al-Baqarah 2:172).
We have to keep in mind if we conduct Halal certification as a business with the sole  aim of making money, Allah might punish us, instead of rewarding.

Best regards.

May Allah bless you.
Wassalam.
